Managing Image Collections

FotoTagger products let organizations that have large photo collections, including Internet news agencies and museums, provide consumers with complete and precise semantic information about every important part of a photo as well as dramatically improve search in the collections.

As FotoTagger provides rich integration capabilities, it can be seamlessly integrated into currently existing information architecture. For example, if your organization uses a database for storing and searching images, FotoTagger enhances its capabilities by allowing you to work with image content on the lower granular level. Since you can label any individual object of the image, your image content will be described much more precisely and completely while providing clear identification of every element visualized on the image.

How It Works

  • You continue using a database as an underlying level for storing images and describing image content in general, such as defining title, description, and keywords.

  • You annotate images that contain elements that are required to be identified and described individually by using FotoTagger desktop or server-based tools. Alternatively, our team of subject matter experts in various fields, including fine art, archaeology, electronics, medicine, and education, will be happy to annotate images for you.

  • To let you improve search in the image collection, FotoTagger object-specific annotation is exported to the format supported by the database so they can be indexed and used in search.

  • Additionally, as individual elements visualized on images can be indexed, they can be highlighted on found images in the same way as text fragments found in a text document are usually highlighted.

  • Annotated images can be published on a Web site with FotoTagger tags which identify and describe elements of the image. Since the tags are not embedded into the image itself and displayed over the original view, they can be hidden in click of a button.
